LEATHER

Only 12 more days until Christmas! I'm going to rewind time a little bit in today's post to when there were still leaves on the ground. Today's look includes one of my favorite things to wear, a leather jacket. Leather jackets are such a great staple to your outfit for the cooler seasons. I don't have very many, but the ones I do have get worn constantly and are some of my favorite pieces in my closet. Finding a leather jacket that will be timeless, versatile, and most importantly - affordable - can be tricky. This two-toned jacket is from Charlotte Russe and can be worn with so many different looks. Some of my favorite (and affordable!) leather jackets are down below.

Perfect Holiday Dress

Happy Sunday! It is crazy to think that Thanksgiving has already come and gone, and Christmas is only weeks away. 2016 has definitely flown by, but this time of year is always exciting. One of the reasons I love the holidays is because I get the chance to dress up a little, and this dress is a go-to for those occasions. Around this time of year, I tend to gravitate toward the dark greens, burgundies, and berries when it comes to my clothes. This dress is no exception! It is incredibly comfortable and stretchy and can definitely be dressed up, or down, depending on the occasion. For these photos, I wore the dress without tights or stockings. And since there is still no snow on the ground, you could absolutely do the same! If it is a little chillier, throw on a cute pair of tights or even tall knee socks. These suede + sparkly booties are one of my favorite pairs of shoes, and I thought they were the perfect addition to the holiday dress. Similar dress options are down below, in case you're interested in finding a lookalike.

I hope you guys have an amazing holiday season! XO

Trending: Over the Knee Boots

At the start of every season, there is always a trend that seems to occur. For me, this fall consisted of the over-the-knee boot trend. I love the style of these boots, especially because they can be worn with any and every outfit. I purchased mine last year at Charlotte Russe, and I am in love with them. I chose the wine pair to add a pop of color to my outfits. Another trend I have been seeing is the choker necklace, which I have grown to really like. I got this tan and gold choker from Charlotte Russe this fall. I have had my grey dress for years, my denim jacket is new from Spoken Boutique in Saratoga Springs, and my lips are Cherry Skies by NYX.

Accessorizing 101

Accessories can make a simple outfit better in seconds. Today's post includes three simple tips when it comes to accessorizing any look.

Tip #1

Wear a bold accessory with simple clothing

Simple, understated clothing can be amplified when you add a bold accessory. When you add a necklace or statement piece to a neutral outfit, it gives you the opportunity to advance your look. An advantage of wearing neutral colors means your accessories can be the pop of color in your outfit.

Tip #2

Wear an accessory that brings out a color in your outfit

Playing up a color makes your look appear more put together. If your outfit has more than one color in it, choose a color and wear an accessory that emphasizes that hue. Since my shorts were a light, pale green I paired my seashell necklace with the outfit. The greens and teals in the necklace play off of the shorts and tie the look together.

Tip #3

Your makeup can be an accessory too

You don't always need to wear a statement piece or excessive amounts of jewelry. Instead, you can play up your makeup. Let that be the accessory! Personally, I am infatuated with highlighting my cheekbones and nose so that is one way I tend to "accessorize" my look. Other ideas could be wearing false eyelashes, using a bright lip color, or dramatic eye makeup.

What to Wear to a Summer Wedding

It's wedding season, which means you may be going to some celebrations this summer. Just because you aren't the one tying the knot doesn't mean you can't look amazing. But what to wear? Choosing the perfect summer wedding look can be hard - here is some inspiration and my top 3 tips for how to dress to impress.

Tip #1

Wear a bright, summery color

You can wear the dark colors in the cooler seasons. Summer is the perfect time to dress up with bright colors. Try out the corals, the yellows, or even a royal blue like this dress I got from The Shoppe in Saratoga Springs.

Tip #2

Dress up your hair too

ย

If you're dressing up your look, it includes dressing up your hair too! Try a hairstyle that you usually don't go for. I tend to wear my hair down or half up, so pinning it in a low bun is my go-to for special occasions.

Tip #3

Wear something flattering, but still appropriate

You want to feel your best when attending a big get-together like a wedding, but you also do not want to draw attention for the wrong reason. Wear something that you feel confident in, but that is also appropriate for the event you are going to.

Dust Pink

I'm in love with this dust pink dress from Forever 21. It is an essential color for this season and insanely comfortable. Today's post includes this flowy dress and strappy ballet flats, which you can get for under $30.

Fresh flowers are a must-have for spring and summer. They are a cute touch to your kitchen, photos, or even a gift. I loved that mine were wrapped up too!

The details...My suede ballet flats were from Rue 21 and I love them. I wore all rose gold jewelry with this look, which is what I usually go for. My rose gold band and elephant bracelets are from Lola Saratoga, my arrow ring is from TJ Maxx, and my elephant necklace is from Silverado.

Coral & Olive

Playing with different color combinations is a great way to keep up to date with styles. One of my new favorite combinations is coral and olive, which I feel is a perfect look for spring.

I recently traveled to Olana in Hudson, NY and had an amazing time walking around the historic site and seeing the gorgeous view.

I kept it pretty simple with jewelry. I wore thin, silver hoop earrings, a thick silver band ring, and some layered bracelets. I also wore a silver and rose gold fringe necklace that I love. Lookalikes can be found at the end of the blog!

I was so glad I was wearing this crop jacket I got at Spoken Boutique in Saratoga. The wind was not my friend! It is comfortable and the perfect layering piece for spring, when the weather is still on-and-off.

Favorite Instagram Accounts to Follow

Of all the apps on my phone, I spend most of my time on Instagram. About 90% of it, if we're being honest. Over time, I have found some great accounts full of style, hair, travel, and family inspo. Here are some of my favorites!

Emily Rose Hannon

This girl is the definition of hair goals. Her trendy outfits, white blonde hair, and gorgeous hairstyles make her account a must to follow.

Marianna Hewitt

Marianna Hewitt is an amazing blogger with a strong brand and Instagram theme. She incorporates pale pinks, light grays, whites, and blacks to all of her photos.

How to Dress Up Jeans & a Tee

Last month I traveled to Montreal. While there, I got to explore the city and although it was freezing, it was gorgeous. Today's post includes a simple, neutral look that is a popular go-to for many: jeans and a tee. This casual look doesn't have to be boring though - there are a few easy ways to dress up a look like this.

Tip 1

Step up your hairstyle

When you're wearing such a simple outfit, an easy way to dress up your look is to take a few extra minutes to curl your hair. Changing your hairstyle from straight to curly can quickly add a bit more style to your look.

Tip 2

Big sunglasses

Sunglasses are one of my favorite things to wear. They're an easy, grab & go accessory that look good with literally every outfit. This black pair are one of my favorites and they were only $15 at a boutique in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Tip 3

A colorful clutch

I may have a slight addiction to handbags and clutches. In my defense however, I use all of them! When wearing an all neutral outfit like this look, a great tip is to grab a bag or clutch that has a pop of color. This Big Buddha mustard yellow clutch is a perfect color for spring.

Tip 4

Bright lips

Makeup is an incredibly easy way to add dimension to a look. Simple outfit? Brighten the eyes, add a pop of color to the lips, or even apply some blush. In this case, I used my NYX  Liquid Suede Creme Lipstick in Tea & Cookies, which is the perfect pink and lasts all day.
